We are seeking students interested in gaining experience in the fields of Psychology, Social Work, and Special Education as a part of our waterfront team. Spend your day interacting with campers at our lakefront and pool while developing the skills you need to succeed with a wide range of youth. You will learn to understand behavior as communication. You will emerge with a heightened ability to meet needs and to teach new skills. You will learn how to create environments that celebrate strengths and enable all people to feel a sense of belonging. You will work hard every day you are here, and learn more than you ever thought possible.
As a Camp Ramapo Waterfront Lifeguard, you’ll benefit from:
- Daily interaction with children, adolescents, and young adults with a wide range of needs, abilities, and backgrounds in a residential summer camp setting
- Intensive, evidence-informed training on our Ramapo Approach, which provides our staff with the tools to create inclusive environments, teach skills, build positive relationships with a wide range of youth, & more
- Earn internship hours and up to 6 credits through an on-site college course, “Fieldwork in Special Education”, which is nationally accredited
- Free room and board on our 250-acre campus and three meals per day, in addition to a stipend and travel allowance
- Onsite lifeguard certification through the American Red Cross is available for all waterfront staff
