This fast-paced, hybrid program introduces high school and college women to biotechnology and engineering in an all-female cohort environment. Students will get hands-on laboratory experiences and meet female luminaries from across the spectrum of STEM careers.
What will you do in Emerging Leaders in STEM?
- Participate in (5) virtual career development workshops starting Spring 2024
- Virtual Dates: April 13, April 17, May 4, May 18, and June 1
- Attend a one-week hands-on lab intensive located in San Antonio, Texas
- Session Dates: June 3-7, June 10-14, and June 24-28
- Gain laboratory skills in genetic engineering and synthetic biology
- Meet strong women who are kicking butt and taking names in STEM fields.
- Practice in demand 21st Century STEM skills like networking and public speaking
- Build friendships with women who have similar interests.
- Get a completion certificate to add to your college application or résumé
Who can apply?
- Any female student (ages 14-22) attending high school or college
- Individuals who identify as female, cisgender, transgender, and non-binary
- College mentors who complete the program will earn a completion certificate as well as a $500 stipend.
