Arrange and manage the completion of projects assigned by leadership. Provide general project oversight, tracking and control for active projects, to include updates on progress, schedule, contracts, capital and expense accounts, and delivery. Oversee and manage the scheduled work assignments of the construction crew. Support & lead the project management team to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget. Assign projects to the project management team and have routine check-ins to monitor the project process. Oversee the space request and move request systems, and develop space plans.

Manage project coordinators, CAD specialists, graphic sign technicians, carpenters, logistics technicians, project managers and project coordinators. Develop and implement departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as it relates to construction projects.

Manage the infection control policies as they pertain to projects, issue citations as required and take action to correct violations. Provide construction-based consultation to Life Safety (LC) and Environment of Care (EC) compliance.

Develop leadership/clinical initiatives into conceptual/potential construction projects, to include project estimates, and arrange for all required product orders, permits and inspections. Manage employee tool and equipment inventories. Work with construction-based consultants to develop facility master plans.

Provide graphics support for master planning and presentations.

Request, negotiate and process contracts for professional design services and construction contracts. Manage records of project progression, to include weekly reports on project progress, alterations and budgets for the duration of each project.

Assist in the hiring process and provide annual reviews on employee performance. Manage absence requests and disciplinary issues as needed.

Must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of construction principles and techniques, and a thorough understanding of blueprints and associated drawings and specifications required. Must also possess understanding of mechanical, plumbing, electrical and communication systems.

Depending on location, may be required to possess knowledge of clinical practices, strategic planning, administrative and financial principles.

Working in a highly collaborative team environment. Looking for a strong leader with the ability to support and lead a team as well as ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, healthcare or Engineering or Architecture preferred. High School diploma or equivalency and college or vocational/technical courses in building construction, estimating and AutoCAD

Valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Depending on location, may be required to maintain a state and/or city electrical contractor license. Licensed architect or engineer desirable.
