Accounting Analyst duties:

  • Performs a range of less complex accounting work as it pertains to classifying, recording, data entry, reporting and reconciling accounting information.
  • Prepares adjusting journal-entries and accounting worksheets. Basic analysis and reconciliations to determine the accuracy, relevancy, and timeliness of data maintained in the General Ledger (GL).
  • Utilizes proper account structure, rules, and accounting theory to maintain GL/Standard General Ledger (SGL) trial balances and related procedures.
  • Understanding of account structure and rules pertaining to the GL/SGL trial balances and related procedures.
  • Understanding of budget execution processes that support the Financial Plan and funds control and basic understanding of the operation and application of accounting rules. And ability to follow regulations and current standards.
  • Performs complete range of professional accounting work as it pertains to classifying, recording, reporting and reconciling accounting information. Ability to utilize proper account structure, rules, and accounting theory to support the GL/SGL trial balances and related procedures.
  • Performs analysis and reconciliations to determine the accuracy, relevancy, and timeliness of data maintained in the General Ledger (GL) and utilizes proper account structure, rules, and accounting theory to maintain GL/Standard General Ledger (SGL) trial balances and related procedures.
  • Knowledge of accounting theory and practices as applied to the programmatic responsibilities of the unit. Ability to follow regulations and current standards.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, governmental accounting principles, accounting theory and accounting techniques as a basis for entering transactions into the financial system and retrieving data.
  • Knowledge of various software applications, such as spreadsheets, to prepare worksheets and other reports used in completing assignments. Constructs and modifies worksheets using various software applications.

Salary Range:

GS 7: $48,670 – $63,267

GS 9: $59,534 – $77,396

*Grade qualifications will be determined by FBI’s Human Resources Division based upon education and experience requirements.
