CASE Graduate Trainee
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) is a professional association serving educational institutions and the advancement professionals who work on their behalf in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and allied areas.
Today, CASE’s membership includes nearly 3,700 colleges and universities, primary and secondary independent and international schools, and non-profit organizations in more than 85 countries around the globe. This makes CASE one of the world’s largest non-profit educational associations in terms of institutional membership. CASE serves more than 91,000 practitioners.
About the CASE Graduate Trainee Program – US and Canada:
The Graduate Trainee Program is a 50-week full-time program to develop young fundraising professionals in in the education sector, providing trainees the training and professional development to succeed as a higher educational fundraiser.
Selected trainees work full-time within assigned area(s) of an advancement office of an educational host institution, gaining experience and developing skills in prospect management, annual giving, stewardship, fundraising campaigns, major gifts, events and partnerships. The breadth of the experience provides trainees with a fully rounded view of fundraising within education and the role it plays in supporting institutions, to include:
· Employment as a trainee by a host university on a 50‐week contract*
· Professional advancement training by CASE, including attendance at the Summer Institute for Educational Fundraising, CASE’s signature conference on fundraising, New Professional Bootcamp, and attendance to a District Conference
· Global Cohort Calls with CASE President & CEO, Sue Cunningham
· CASE Membership
· Post-program job search assistance
*Contract is July 2021- June 2022 (dates subject to change). Employment is with the host university in partnership with CASE.
Applicants must obtain a baccalaureate degree prior to the first day of the trainee orientation (July 2020) and must be interested in entering the education fundraising profession. The trainee cannot currently be a regular full-time employee of the host institution. Must be eligible to work in the United States or Canada without sponsorship.
