We’re currently hiring a Network Technician intern to work at the Washington College campus in Chestertown, Maryland.

Are you a good fit?

  • You are interested in IT and are pursuing your degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • You can work 10-15 hours per week during both the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • You have a growth mindset and are willing to learn about enterprise networks.

Here’s your job:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers
  • Work with Apogee’s primary network technician to address end-user and network escalations
  • Perform weekly network testing
  • Perform monthly maintenance of network equipment
  • Monitor, investigate and retire equipment alarms
  • Generate reports as required
  • Other documentation and administrative duties as requested

Minimum Qualifications

  • Honest
  • Dependable
  • Self-motivated
  • Basic understanding of networking and multiple operating systems
  • Enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college/university.
  • Ability to operate under minimal supervision
  • Ability to work logically and methodically to resolve service issues under direction from NOC
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills (ability to communicate comfortably with college students, dormitory employees, university officials, and owners and management of properties)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Currently studying for an IT degree
  • Experience with IT
  • Certifications such as Net+

Physical demands. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb a ladder. Position involves lots of walking.

Driving Requirements. This role requires you to maintain a valid driver’s license for the purposes of using your own vehicle for work purposes.
