Entwine’s Midwest & South Community Manager will inspire and empower alumni of Entwine programs living in the Midwest and South United States to learn about and act on behalf of global Jewish causes. They will engage alumni through one-on-one relationship building and will connect them with Entwine’s leadership programs. The Midwest & South Community Manager will promote Entwine global immersive experiences and facilitate programming geared towards alumni in the Midwest and South.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in community organizing, leadership development, student engagement, facilitation, camp counseling, or programmatic work, and a passion for global Jewish causes.

What will you do as a Midwest and South Community Manager?
- Inspire and empower young professionals living in the US Midwest & South regions to learn about and act on behalf of global Jewish causes
- Engage young professionals through long-lasting one-on-one relationships and on-going leadership opportunities (i.e. going on “coffee dates”, hosting events, inviting them to apply for other Entwine programs/trips)
- Promote Entwine experiences and recruit Jewish young professionals to participate in global immersive experiences
- Implement and manage regional partnerships in the Midwest & South
- Recruit, interview, and select participants from the Midwest & South for Entwine global and engagement programming
- Oversee outreach to Midwest & South-based alumni to engage them in Entwine’s alumni community and leadership programs
- Integrate Midwest & South-based participants into the broader Entwine community by encouraging participation in national Insider Trips, alumni leadership trainings, in person and virtual events
- Own the process for regional events, from conceptualization to dates to venue selection
- Work with Entwine’s National Alumni Manager to ensure the deliverables outlined by funders and partners in the Midwest and South are met
- Manage the program budget for Midwest & South alumni programming
- Track interactions, recruitment pipelines and partner engagement in Salesforce
- Be a JDC Entwine expert by maintaining and communicating the work and goals of the department, with a high-level understanding of JDC through an Entwine lens
- Possess a high-level of knowledge on relevant issues and trends in the young adult space
- Represent JDC Entwine in Jewish young adult forums
- Help to develop and pilot new initiatives and programs with possible expansion into other communities
- Required to staff all Entwine events in their region, and visit different cities to visits local partners and alumni
- Required to staff 3-5 Global Insider Trips per year
- Attendance required at Community Reps & Trip Chair Trainings

What qualifications are required to be our Midwest and South Community Manager?
- Excellent relational skills, with ability to work well with colleagues as well as lay leaders and professionals
- Strong relationship builder who can connect, mobilize, and educate people around global Jewish causes
- Highly developed presentation and facilitation skills
- Ability to clearly and passionately convey JDC’s work worldwide and elucidate the importance of global Jewish service
- Energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for Jewish life and social action
- Familiarity with the United States Jewish communal landscape (e.g. Federation, Hillel, Moishe House, etc.)
- Ability to recognize cultural differences and to communicate effectively with people of various backgrounds
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to both work effectively both with others and on one’s own
- Ability to see the big picture from each team member’s role and translate that into strong judgement and choices
Additional Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Passion for humanitarian work and/or global Jewish service
- Prior experience in a professional setting
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite, including the ability to build and manage Excel spreadsheets
- Experience working with teams and in highly collaborative environments
- Prior international work experience
- Knowledge of Jewish affairs, culture, traditions and history preferred
- Prior group facilitation experience
Additional Details
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Hours: 35 hours/week, 8:45 AM – 4:45PM with a 1-hour lunch break
- Location: This role can be based remotely from one of several strategic greater metro areas in the Midwest or South: Ideally Detroit MI or Minneapolis/Saint Paul MN; Also possible are Atlanta GA, Miami FL, Palm Beach FL, Columbus OH, or Cincinnati OH.

What are the compensation and benefits for a Midwest and South Community Manager?
This is a full-time position paid semi-monthly at a salary of $65,000-$80,000 per year; in determining where a candidate falls in that range JDC considers several factors, including skills and experience, internal equity, and cost of living in location of work. This role is exempt per the FLSA.
